You’d be forgiven if you thought the FR Skates FR1 90 looked like the Seba FR’s, and that’s because they (essentially) are! The brand, aptly called FR Skates, has spilt from Seba to go it’s own away taking the FR boot and its technology with it. This means the skate already comes with a great reputation and is a firm favourite amongst many skaters. Renowned for having a stiff plastic boot, this helps with both ankle support and responsiveness, giving you more control. Also included is the seven-point metal frame mounting plates, offering seven adjustments to the frame position to match your push off and stride (which may alleviate any pressure points), whilst increasing power transfer. This is achieved by the metal plate reducing the shock absorption of standard two-point mounting, which makes the skates feel super fast and do more of the work.With improved liners and an Orthomove insole, FK buckle fastening, FR 90 frames and FR wheels, this industry standard keeps on giving and will be a firm favourite of ours for years to come. Just having this skate on your foot feels great, before you've even pushed off.Are the FR Skates FR1 90 skates the same as Seba FR1 skates? Essentially, yes. We're not 100% sure on why the company split but FR Skates became independent and re-made the FR boot mold. The boot, liner, wheels and frame all remain the same.Why would I choose 90mm instead of 80mm wheels? Bigger wheels mean more speed and more stability*. By stability, we mean that the base of the skate is longer than what you'd get with an 80mm wheel. This makes your forward and backwards motion(s) more stable. This may be desirable for beginners, tricks and urban skating at speed.
